Were still in the midst of remodelings. My kitchen counter is being made today and maybe installed this next week. I'm going to go look at some glass tiles for a backspash this morning.

We had to put down our old dawg this week and i feel like a new woman! I'm reclaiming my home! Ive gawn over 20 years with one dog or another to take care of and now I GET 20 yrs without one here Its smells better here already! I can enterain again! roll on the floor! come and go as i please! ect...sorry for my glee all you pet lovers

MEMPHIS, TN - The Shelby County Office of Preparedness HLS/EMA, under the direction of Bob Nations, Jr., has activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. after a sleepless night of advisories, watches and warnings for flash flooding, thunderstorms and tornadoes.

City and county leaders and department managers quickly gathered at the EOC to share information about the storm situation. Widespread flash flooding has been reported throughout the county.

Memphis City Hall had flood waters entering the building and required crews to start &quot;sand bagging&quot; to keep the waters out.

The Gayoso Pumping Station at Mill and Saffarans lost electrical power at 8:00 a.m. causing Downtown and Midtown homes and businesses to be flooded. The pumping station serves two purposes, to pump in clean water and pump out sewage. Power was restored at 9:00 a.m.

Hardest hit so far has been the North Memphis area with numerous citizens waking up to find their homes and vehicles under water.

Responders from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and police and fire departments and all municipalities are prioritizing the hundreds of calls received since the severe weather began. SWAT and rescue units were assisting with the heavy call load. An inventory or rescue equipment available and the number of crews available to assist were discussed, including the number of Jon boats available for water rescue.

At 4:15 p.m., MLGW reported 4,200 customers without power in the Shelby County Area.
